Street Food In the Philippines; A Journey to Filipino Taste

Food is somehow one of the important things needed in someone's life. Definitely because its where we gain energy and strength that will be use throughout the whole tiring day full of activities. And sometimes we cant deny that there are people who eats when they are not in the mood or depressed, maybe because Foods become their stress reliever or somehow their best friend.


Food is part of nation's culture. Going to such diners and eat their main dishes that represents a certain culture, it feels you like you are exactly on that country. From classy diners up to street foods, all of them are showing the culture and identity of a country.


Same case for today's blog, it all about Filipino street foods; a journey to Filipino taste. Delicacies such as Kwek-kwek, Tokneneng, Fishball, Kikiam, Lumpiang Shanghai, Pritong Isaw, Kalamares, Squidball, and Siomai that can be seen in many of the public street places around the metro manila and even in the whole Philippines.

FISHBALLS/CHICKENBALLS/SQUIDBALLS

- these are foods consisting of small,spherical or nearly spherical pieces of chicken,squids or fish. -they are deep fried.

ISAW

-maybe for some its gross but actually here in the Philippines Filipino really loves it especially with rice.

-Chicken or pig intestine grilled or fried over hot fire or sometime coated with seasoning

(Best to soak in vinegar with onions and chilies)


PRICE: 5 PHP


LUMPIANG SHANGHAI

- Lumpia is the Filipino name for fried spring rolls.


Price: 4 -5 PHP


KALAMARES

-fried squid coated with flour and seasonings


Price: 3 PHP


Honestly I'm a fan of Filipino street food but as many says, too much consumptions of it can cause harm to your health so better to control it. Actually these are only some of many street food in the Philippines, these are only the famous and usual one in most of the vendors but we have some more to our next blog about Exotic foods can be eat here in our country.
